Kima hummed an African folk（民歌）as she strolled along the（小径）．Her tall，lanky（过分瘦长的）body glided easily（稠密的叶子）．She was on her way tot he Gorilla Research Center（大猩猩研究中心）．Her father，Mutar，worked as（追踪者）at the center．
It was along walk from her village，visiting the center．Everyone who worked there was nice,especially Laura．
Kima smiled as she thought of her friend．Laura Jones had study the mountain go She and Kima had taken an instant（立即的）liking to each other．Laura had taught Kima many things about the gorillas and had even taken her to meet one of the groups that was used to seeing humans（人类）．
Kima hoped to become a scientist ,just liek Laura.She longed to go to college when she finished the village school.Kima kenw it would be hard．In her village，women became what hardships faced her，Kima was（实现）her goals．
Kima sat down to rest ona mountain air．It was spring，and（开的）flowers provided her nose with（香味）．She was a little hungry，so she took a banana out of her pack（背包）to eat．
Suddenly，Kima jumped to her feet．There were noises coming from the bushes（灌木丛）behind her！She watched silently as a thickly furred毛覆盖的）head appeared．It was a view，Kima saw his broad silvery有银色光泽的）back．There were no ered（颤抖）．Silver backs who travelled alone were very dangerous．

The gorilla stopped just as he hot breath as he sniffed(嗅）her．Slowly，Kima opened her eyes and looked at eh blac limbs（肢体）in front of her．She noticed that the blood．There was aring of wire（腕关节）．
“You have put your arm into a poacher's trap（偷猎者的夹子），” Kima whispered．
The gorilla looked down into Kima's gentle gaqze.he let out a heavy sigh and then laydown beside her .Kima saw the pain in his black eyes and knew what she had to do．
