In your essay, you should first describe the drawing (描述点题段) then interpret its meaning(阐述寓意段), and give your comment on it. (前瞻感言段)
  Directions:

For this part, you are allowed 35 minutes to write a composition according to the pictures. Your composition should be about 200 words. You must base your composition on the following instructions.
  1. Describe the pictures.
  2. Deduce the purpose of the drawer.
  3. Suggest your counter-measures.
The two pictures about a child’s school calendar reveal the shift of education orientation, Compared with 1995, School children in 2000 are having more quality building activities than exams. The realization of the importance of students’ quality makes all the differences.
The pictures are drawn to warn people against the worse scenario if students take too many exams. If exams have the final say over students’ performance, students will know only how to answer test questions. But academic credits are only a small part of education assessment. When students start working, their skills in communication, in solving real problems and in originally and independently dealing with the world are essential factors for their success. Let exams dominate the school calendar, the education pattern will be self-propagating, nobody knowing what and why they learn.
But we still have reasons to be optimistic. Education administrations could try to plan the quality-oriented education in schools. If text books are accordingly changed and teachers trained, children tomorrow will certainly be creative instead of copycats.
