9-11事件之后，Enrique带着这首歌参加了《美国：向英雄致敬》（America: A Tribute To Heroes）的演出，歌的意义被人为地升华了。其实怎么听，都只是首情歌。另一首在9-11纪念晚会上演唱的《战壕圣诞》（Christmas In The Trenches）是货真价实的反战歌曲。
玛利亚-凯莉（Mariah Carey）有一首同名的《Hero》，是首励志的歌。那首歌歌词中有句名言：“每个人心中都有一个英雄”。
